Okinawa Karate Kaikan Opens March, 2017!

Karate is a martial art representative of Japan that is currently said to have over 100 million enthusiasts around the world.

The Prefecture of Okinawa will be opening the Okinawa Karate Kaikan in March, 2017 as the center for learning the essence of traditional karate and to promote Okinawa as the birthplace of karate at home and abroad in order to preserve, inherit, and develop the art as a unique culture.

The Okinawa Karate Kaikan will be provided with hands-on exhibition facilities, shops, and eateries aside from the karate dojos to serve as a facility that everyone can enjoy, including those without karate experience as well as tourists, along with the national and international parties involved in karate.

Completion ceremony: Saturday, March 4, 2017
Opening to the public: Sunday, March 5, 2017
