Regarding Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
Entry restrictions from overseas to Japan still continue but Okinawa Prefecture has lifted all coronavirus-related restrictions on domestic travels.
All airports within the prefecture, including Naha Airport, have installed thermal imaging cameras to carry out mandatory temperature testing of domestic passengers as part of action plan measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 as well as protecting the health and safety of domestic travelers and people on the island.
Please check here for the latest information on entry restrictions to Japan.
To all residents of Japan who are considering traveling to Okinawa
When traveling to the remote islands within Okinawa, due to lack of medical facilities on the remote islands, please follow thorough coronavirus infection prevention measures (e.g. wearing a mask). If you are feeling unwell, please refrain from traveling and consider postponing your travel.
Please note that some remote islands have requested travelers to refrain from visiting, therefore, please be sure to check the latest permission status on the website of each remote island and we ask you to make appropriate decisions of your travel.
We stand as one to combat the current COVID-19 pandemic. Our priorities here in Okinawa are to protect the health and safety of everyone on the island. We send our love and support to those who have faced hardships during this difficult time. Just remember that the brightest light comes from the darkest times. We hope to welcome you all to Okinawa again in the near future.
